WPT lines up top pros for winter ‘boot camps’

The World Poker Tour has unveiled its stellar line-up of instructors at its forthcoming poker ‘boot camps’.

Over five days, students at the camps will interact with professional players inside specially designed ‘learning labs’, honing their skills before being given the chance to see what they have learned in exclusive tournaments offering buy-in packages to the WPT’s own events worth hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Perhaps the biggest name instructor to be announced is Mike Matusow, a veteran of the professional poker circuit having claimed two World Series of Poker bracelets and amassed more than $5.6 million over his career.

Joining him are John D’Agostino, winner of more than $1.6 million at various poker tournaments as well as one-time WSOP bracelet winner John Freidberg.

“We recognize that there is a true science to how people learn and we take that into account when we select certain players to pass on their knowledge,” said Steve Berman, WPT Boot Camp vice president.

“Both Mike, J-Dags and John all bring varied skills and styles of play to the camp. All three will be participating in both our tournament and cash strategy boot camps and will be an exciting addition for both future students and our returning alumni.”

Camps are set to be held in numerous locations over the coming months, including Nassau in the Bahamas and several Vegas casinos.
