Will The Kangaroos Leapfrog The Lions?

As the Rugby World Cup moves towards the business end of the tournament, the rugby world awaits the massive tie between Australia and England.  While the odds are on an Australian victory, with many experts giving the England team little hope, it may not be quite as straight forward as some may think.  We will see the skill and pace of the Australians against the powerful pack and pin point kicking of England legend Johnny Wilkinson.

While England are the current world champions, after Johnny Wilkinson last ditch kick against the Australians four years ago, they have under gone a massive reorganisation of both the management and squad areas.  Out have gone many of the old guard, with a new crop of players looking to take up where the old stagers left off.  There are so many head to head battles out there that it may just come down to who actually wants it more!

The Australians have cruised to this stage of the tournament while England left it late after an embarrassing zero points showing against the South Africans.  The Aussies have powered to victories in all of their games, and while the Wales game was a little too close for comfort, it did show their dominance of pool B.

On the other hand England fought back against Tonga, under heavy pressure from both the English and World media, giving the team a much need boost of confidence.  There were some good showings in that game, but there were also some disappointments, with the British “Lion” not exactly roaring as yet.

Today’s game promises to be an action packed game with the old adversaries sure to give no ground, despite the apparent Australian superiority at this moment in time.  Will the kangaroo leap over the British “Lion” to secure a semi-final place, or will the “Lion” catch the Kangaroo in its teeth?
