Site reports extended freeroll success

The first two events of an extended poker freeroll series have been hailed as a “great success” by PokerListings.com and UltimateBet.com.

Offering both cash prizes and the chance to win a World Poker Tour package, players reaching 250 rakes hands were given the chance to take part in a $5,000 cash freeroll tournament and a World Poker Tour freeroll, worth $15,000.

Some 2,000 people participated in the events, with further freerolls planned for February and March in both cash and World Poker Tour categories.

Lianne Ellis, senior editor at PokerListings.com, remarked: “The World Poker Tour is the biggest thing going right now and we can’t think of a better place for one of our players to show they can play with the heavy hitters in the poker biz.”

She added that she has been happy that so many players have been able to relax and “enjoy some great poker for free on the weekend”.

Ultimate Bet claims to have been created by “true poker professionals” with “strong security measures” in abundance on the site. It was formed in 2000.
