Pittsburgh man scoops poker prize

This week’s $500 buy-in tournament at the Borgata Hotel Casino was won by a Pittsburgh player who took home $192,975. 

  

With a $2,500 buy-in at the final table, Jack Schanbacher emerged as the winner against some of the world’s best players to take home the prize pot. 

  

One of the runners up was internet gamer Jon “Pearljammed” Turner from Nevada who finished in third place and scooped consolation prize money of $59,138. 

  

“I am still surprised at my last hand and know I could have won this event,” said the well known online player. 

  

This week’s Atlantic City event also saw the arrival of star players including Ted Forrest, Steve Danneman and Michael “The Grinder” Mizrachi for the $5,000 buy-in contest. 

  

Maine man Leonard Cortellino took home one of the event’s main titles as he scooped more than $200,000 after finishing first in the Borgata Winter Poker Open.
