New Orleans lined up for WSOP Circuit event

The Harrah’s casino in New Orleans is to play host to the largest poker event in the American south for the fourth year running.

The forthcoming World Series of Poker event will feature some of the biggest names in the professional game, including Chris “Jesus” Ferguson, Dan Harrington, Phil Ivey, Daniel Negreanu, Gavin Smith and Phil Gordon.

Kicking off on November 26th and running to December 5th, the Winter Bayou Championship will offer big cash prizes as well as guaranteed entries to the prestigious WSOP 2008 Main Event, to be held, as per usual, in Las Vegas.

“This is our fourth straight year to be part of the World Series of Poker and every year this tournament continues to grow,” said Jim Hoskins, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Harrah’s New Orleans.

“But aside from the great poker action, the best thing we have to offer is warm hospitality, terrific world-class cuisine and entertainment, and all the excitement that comes with visiting the great city of New Orleans.”

Just recently “Jesus” Ferguson won the WSOP Circuit event at Harvey’s Lake Tahoe.

The 44-year old now owns three gold rings as well as five WSOP gold bracelets.
